I woke up early, so I could IMA before class and catch up on painting homework, only to find an inch-thick blanket of snow covering everything outside my window. There were no class cancellations waiting for me in my inbox, so I dragged myself out of the house and to the IMA by 11am. The snow outside was different than the snow we'd had this past weekend; it wasn't a thin powdery veil on a sheet of ice, rather a brown and grey slushy mess. Walking through it sent me into an intense state of deja vu as it reminded me of the last time I was in Russia with my dad. This was Moscow in April snow.
My workout ended up being longer than intended (surprise), and while I was working out, the snow had started falling pretty hard, so I skipped out on German and left myself just enough time to get a quick lunch, buy a couple of tubes of paint and sprint to the Art building in time for my 2:30 drawing class. Unfortunately, after doing all of this and running up the stairs to the top floor of the building, I found a note on the door. "Denzil's 2:30 ART 490 class was cancelled due to icy conditions." So here I am, in the SOACC, listening to KEXP and writing pseudo-poetic garbage on Livejournal until the other painting section vacates the classroom and I can do my homework.
